Rosy Cheeks, Muffins and Cookies

We recently played musical rooms with the kids. We moved Jacob to what was going to be the play/guest room prior to our surprise news this summer, moved all of Audrey's furniture to Jacob's room and got big girl furniture for Audrey. Both the kids were really ready to help Brian with the paint job in Halle's room (paint color rosy cheeks). Jacob especially enjoyed painting and "fixing" things in her room. The name of the paint we used in Audrey's old room in Texas was My Fair Lady. Not planned because of her name, just ironic. So... maybe Halle will have her dad's complexion instead of mine due to this paint name. We'll see soon!
Jacob had "Moms and Muffins" day at school. It was very sweet! From this picture with Jacob's mouth full, you can see we both really enjoyed having the muffins, cocoa and juice! Jacob with his friend Callon. All the kids did a great job with their singing the "mom" songs!
Anyone for Valentine's cookies? Or just cookies? Seems like lately, we have had an abundance of cookies at our house. Don't know if that has to do with me being pregnant or it is just a good time to make, buy, or have cookies around! Doesn't help that it is girl scout cookie time either! I usually try not to buy them (don't need them), but it is Brian who cannot turn them down. Today we had Cailey, Callon and Lesley over for some good play time. I was running low on lunch food (so sorry), but made sure I had these cookies last week when I knew they were coming over?!
Audrey didn't stick around too long (her attention span in the kitchen is very short). The others really enjoyed helping out, especially with the icing!
The end result...a masterpiece!
After everyone left, Audrey said over and over, "We had a great time." Well said!

Christmas pics galore!

As you may or may not be able to tell, I got a new camera for Christmas and since Brian is making fun of the number of pics I have been taking, I thought I'd start out with this one. He was willing to pose, so I shot! Most of the pics are not posted for the gifts, but for the expressions that I think are so hilarious!

Audrey started ironing for the family (even Brian's shoes and her underwear)!
Ever since Jacob received bike gear for his Birthday, Audrey has wanted some as well of course! So, she likes wearing the gear more than riding her bike right now.

The Dora hat and gloves from Maw maw and Paw paw have been a hit! She loves wearing them... not when it is cold, but any other time.

My mistake! I thought the commercials did a great job of advertising the cleanliness of the Moon Sand. Boy was I wrong. After 4-5 cleanups in 2 days, this is now an outside activity!
Not a good shot, but the kids enjoyed making gingerbread snowmen for Santa.

Over at Bunny and Pop's, Audrey was most excited Santa came through with a jeep! Didn't take long for her to find the gas pedal in the living room.
And, Jacob and Austin enjoyed scaring everyone with their dinosaurs.

Quickly Meg and Audrey took a test drive and loved it! Meg is saying "wooooe" every couple of seconds as Audrey is circling the driveway.

Pancakes are always better when they are in shapes! This one is a Santa, yet it's hard to tell.

We are still working on Audrey's smile and Meg to stay still for longer than a second, but we got some good shots.

Snowtubing at the Bricktown Ballpark.

Brian so seriously golfing on the Wii at Bunny and Pop's. I don't know who enjoyed playing more, the adults or the kids!
As I said...Audrey really likes her hat and gloves. No telling how long these stayed on during her nap.

Last but not least, we receive giftcards in the mail from Uncle Kevin and Aunt Tiffany and Gypsy. Thank you! Audrey gets decked out in dress up garb.
And Jacob decides on cars, because he doesn't already have enough. :)
The day we get home from Toys R Us, we get two more giftcards from Uncle Tony and Aunt Melissa. Thank you! Audrey is loving "going to work" with her baby in tow and backpack with baby gear in it.
And, more cars for Jacob!
I know this is long, but all in all we were so thankful to be together this year and for everyone to be healthy (for the most part)! Happy new year!

All I want for Christmas...

Audrey's teachers gave her these reindeer antlers. She loves them to my surprise. Usually nothing goes on the head, including bows! Jacob came in the morning I took the Christmas tree pics below to show me what he made. I don't know who was more proud, me or him!
Don't be scared of some of the smiles. I was teaching them not to say "cheese", but to smile. They tried a bit too hard.

Here are a few Santa pics of this year. We did not make it to the mall Santa because I knew we had many other opportunities. Some of the Santas were great. Others were not very convincing. As for the Christmas tree pics...I really wish I could have taken them a bit earlier and used them for Christmas card pics instead of using the only decent picture of us from July of this year. Oh well! The best pictures that I take are those not planned or without trying. I took these quickly before the kids went to school for their Christmas parties. Merry Christmas!
